Davos Klosters, Prättigau
First settled by the Walser, immigrants from Canton Wallis, around 700 years ago, Davos has developed into Europe’s highest holiday and congress town. Whilst in earlier times its sanatoria attracted the sick (remember "The Magic Mountain", the world-famous novel by Thomas Mann), today it hosts the World Economic Forummeetings. Apart from its cultural and gastronomic diversity Davos Klosters is a summer sports centre.
The side valleys and the Prättigau – the valley between Landquart and Klosters – have nevertheless retained their original character. In the area surrounding these small, pretty places such as Seewis, Grüsch or St. Antönien you will find hidden gems and natural beauty.
