When it gets hot down in the valley, the mountains stay nice and cool. So it's a good time to go hiking at higher altitudes - and maybe take a detour to one of the lovely mountain lakes. Here are some tips from our experts.
Hiking in Switzerland: Graubünden
The Swiss Alps are known for their unique network of hiking trails. Graubünden, the largest holiday region in Switzerland, is the best example for that: here you have available 10,000 km of hiking trails - anything from a pleasant walk to an adventurous mountain hike. Summer and Autumn are the ideal seasons for a hiking holiday in the higher altitudes, but even in the Spring you can walk through blooming meadows and cool forests in Bregaglia, Valposchiavo, Domleschg or the Bündner Herrschaft area - while the mountain peaks are still covered in snow. In winter too, there are seasonal hiking opportunities along 1,400 prepared trails. So take a hike through all four seasons - the hiking trails of Graubünden
