In the garden of the Ferienhaus Don Bosco in Lantsch/Lenz a show garden has been created for the insect world. During your visit, you will learn about the ideal environment for insects to thrive in and get inspiration for your own garden or balcony.

Description

The site, located amidst the sparse mountain pine forest, was upgraded to become an exemplary theme garden for insects, a show garden which is open to visitors every day. Here you can discover how insects can be systematically helped through simple measures. Eight different elements with native plants, dead wood, gravel, sand and piles of stone offer the insects places of retreat and provide them with nesting opportunities. Wild shrubs and a wildflower meadow provide them with food; crucially, there have to be blossoms at all times between May and October. Two-legged visitors may also refresh themselves with snacks from the berry patch. As a part of the campaign “Insect Oasis Parc Ela”, the insect show garden in Lantsch/Lenz directly and indirectly makes a contribution to preserving and helping the important animal group classified as insects. Let yourself be inspired and create your own little insect oasis at home.
For the kids there is an interactive puzzle game to join in on site.
