Tenna Church

The first church of Tenna was probably built shortly after the settlement of the Walser in Tenna around 1350. It is dedicated to St. Valentine, who today is also known as the patron saint of lovers. Over time, the church was expanded. Around 1400 it received artistically valuable wall paintings, which have been preserved because they were painted over during the Reformation and only rediscovered in 1957. Together with the whole church, they were renovated in 2001. In addition to the unique location and the great view of the Safiental, these frescoes make this small church very worth seeing.
