Description
Vals in summer:
Wild, rocky Vals valley and its side valleys are every hiker's dream. The Vals hiking bus gets you to the starting point of your tour in the mountains. Climb steep footpaths and cross the passes into neighbouring valleys like Val Lumnezia, Safiental, Val di Blenio and Rheinwald. Vals is an important stop along the Great Walser Trail that stretches from Zermatt across the Alps all the way to Kleinwalsertal in Austria. Mountaineers visit the area because of the Albula massif with its 50 peaks. Vals valley is also a popular destination for amateur geologists and well-known for the many rare and spectacular minerals that were unearthed here.
Vals in winter:
The relaxed ski resort with its five ski lifts on Dachberg mountain lies at an altitude of between 1,270 and 2,941 meters above sea level and is considered to be snow sure. Its sheltered location in the Central Alps gives the area around Dachberg a pleasant climate and the landscape is one of a kind. There are slopes of all difficulties for skiers and snowboarders alike. Cross-country skiing, sledding, winter hiking and snowshoe tours are possible, as well.
