Description
In the Walabütz basin, an information point provides details about the surrounding waterfalls. From the Scheubser Hinteralp, the Scheubsbach practically flies over the "Isengrind" wall into the Walabütz. Depending on the direction and strength of the wind, the water from the Isengrindfall either falls into a northern or southern channel before flowing into the Seez river. With 230 meters, the Isengrindfall is one of the highest waterfalls in Europe and is only 60 meters "smaller" than the famous Staubbachfall in Lauterbrunnen. The two Mattbach waterfalls, with heights of 75 and 65 meters, are also worth seeing. As in Batöni, the Kraftwerke Sarganserland AG capture the water below the waterfalls and direct it into tunnels to supply the Gigerwald Reservoir in the adjacent Calfeisental.
