Zapporthütte SAC

Traditional hut near the Zapport and Paradise glaciers, at the source of the Hinterrhein.

The Zapporthütte, built in 1872 on the edge of the glacier, is located at 2,276 m above sea level. The hut is serviced from late February to mid-May and from late June to mid-October. The rest of the time it is open (with cooking facilities). Please note that the path from Hinterrhein to the hut is a very challenging mountain hiking trail (duration approx. 3.5 hours). Since the first part of the hike leads over the area of the tank firing range of the Swiss Army, the military shooting publications must be observed, Tel.
