Award ceremony Bündner Literaturpreis 2023

According to the jury, Schmidt incorporated everything from the Tell legend into his work, from the hat greeting to the apple shot to the tyrannicide, in order to then have twenty perpetrators, victims and accomplices report on Tell's life in a hundred short sentences.
From these dramas, the author created a fast-paced narrative with twists, refractions, irony and a lot of imagination – "a diverse collage and a pleasure to read".
Reason enough to choose Schmidt as the winner of this year's Graubünden Literature Prize. Congratulations!
