Blue Monkey Big Band in Waltensburg

A big band is like a jewel, only in this line-up there is the real swing, the concentrated power of the brass unleashed. This is how the Blue Monkey Big Band emerged years ago from a youth saxophone ensemble, which is where the almost familiar character of the young band comes from. The ecstatic solos of Micha or the melting ballads of Seraina are unforgettable. The Blue Monkey Big Band is also not an ordinary big band, it is compact, simply unique. The brass section plays standing with seven saxophones, three trumpets and a guest trombon. Andy Reinhard writes many arrangements for the Blue Monkeys. He tailors them to the Blue Monkeys, so to speak. The arrangements make use of classic jazz standards, funk, Latin as well as original compositions. The arrangements have a certain stubbornness, are playful and exciting to listen to. So you can look forward to an evening with the Blue Monkeys. But beware, sometimes they not only hang on the trees at a safe distance, sometimes they also race through the jungle like the wild boar horde.
