Former mortician and ex-policeman Luc Conrad (Mike Müller), who runs a restaurant in Costa Rica in his new life, travels to Switzerland to celebrate her 70th birthday with Erika Bürgisser (Suly Röthlisberger).
His old companions Fabio Testi (Reto Stalder) and the two Aargau policemen Anna-Maria (Barbara Terpoorten) and Doerig (Samuel Streiff) are of course also invited to the celebration in an old, run-down hotel in the Engadine.
