Event Surselva
Cultural trip to Valendas

Description
The Graubünden mountain village of Valendas has an eventful history. An astonishing economic rise in the 18th and 19th centuries was followed by a dramatic decline about a hundred years ago. Thanks to proactive locals – such as our host Walter Marchion – there has been a turnaround in recent decades. Today, Valendas is regarded throughout Switzerland as a pioneering example of successful village development. As part of a village tour, we eat in the renowned "Gasthaus am Brunnen", right next to Europe's largest historic wooden fountain.
Car ride from Egolzwil, center Oberdorf, 7.00 a.m., arrival approx. 8.00 p.m.
Registration until 30 May at info@vereinspektrum.ch or at Alois Hodel 079 297 92 00.
