Guided star hike "Suworow" in Ilanz

The tour starts with a minibus from Ilanz to Pigniu. Via a zigzag path and a forest and alpine road, the tree line and soon also the Alp Ranasca of the municipality of Domat/Ems are reached. Looking back you get a wonderful view over the Surselva. A rocky ridge, which has to be crossed, requires surefootedness, but soon the Alp Mer is reached, which is hit with 600 sheep. Due to the presence of wolves, herd guard dogs are used here. Past imposing whirlpools,
the 'Plaun da Cavals' is crossed. One last steep ascent, and then the longed-for transition to Glarus lies ahead of us. The view over the pass brings surprising things to light and makes the geologist's heart beat faster.
Here they rest in peace and remember the drama that took place at the Panixer Pass during the retreat of the Russian army under General Suworow from Glarus to Graubünden. The Häxenseeli shows the well-developed but steep path down into the valley to Wichlen, where an extra transport to Elm is organized.
