Hanneli Music

The very last program includes many of the most famous melodies from the Swiss folk music collection of Hanny Christen, to whom the eighth and last CD is also dedicated.
The more than 12,000 melodies from the sheet music collections of Swiss folk music formations in the 19th century were combed through and compared with the focal points of the dance orchestra repertoires in the European metropolises. It's amazing how quickly the most popular melodies from Berlin, Vienna, London and Paris appear in the rural music of the Swiss!
The new concert programme "Gassenhauer" accompanies the Hanneli-Musig on its last "golden" concert tour. Half of the Hanneli musicians - Ueli Mooser (2010), Dani Häusler (2017) and Johannes Schmid-Kunz (2021) - were honoured with the most important recognition prize of Swiss customs, the Golden Treble Clef.
