Le Dernier Sorcier

The 23rd production will be the Fantaisie en deux actes "Le Dernier Sorcier". The music was composed by the fascinating composer, singer, pianist and vocal teacher Pauline Viardot (1821-1910). The lyrics were written by her faithful friend Ivan Turgenev. Since there are different versions of this piece, it was decided to create a separate version for singer and small "orchestra", consisting of piano, harp and percussion.

Under the direction of Oliver Kloeter, singers such as Fabrice Raviola as the magician, Nicole Hitz as his daughter Stella and Bettina Schneebeli as the prince sing "Opera in the Buttonhole". The musical rehearsal and the piano part lies with Judit Polgar, who has just successfully rehearsed "Amleto".
