Mountain bird excursion

Meeting point at the parking lot in front of the village Tschiertschen. (Arrival Postbus 08:31)
Duration of the excursion: approx. 3 hours (from 09:00 to 12:00)
We try to observe some typical mountain bird species that usually breed above Tschiertschen. These are the ring thrush, a rather rare species, the mistletoe thrush and perhaps even mountain pipit and wheatear. Of course, we discuss all the species we observe or hear, including their behavior and habitat demands. The excursion will be led by Hans Strassmann, field ornithologist.

At the meeting point parking lot Tschiertschen we spread out on some private vehicles and then drive together to a good starting point, where the excursion starts. Where exactly this is will be announced at the meeting point. People arriving by Postbus can also take part in the excursion. At the end of the excursion we drive back to Tschiertschen together.

Equipment: clothing adapted to the weather, mountain boots and – if available – binoculars.
Participation fee: CHF 20.–, children CHF 10.–, family CHF 50.–.

The excursion is carried out in all weathers, except when it rains strings or thick fog. In case of unclear weather conditions, 079 914 07 55 will provide information the evening before from 18:00.
