The trumpeter and composer Nolan Quinn from Ticino is known for his stylistic versatility and melodic talent. He moves confidently through the imaginative sound world of topicality and retro sounds, which gives his music a lot of charm and emotion. Winner of the Swiss Jazz Award in 2022, he will be on stage at JazzChur with his brothers Simon and Brian, among others. «Pure American jazz. Quinn and his team make no secret of their reverence for the jazz of the 1950s," says the NZZ.

John Coltrane already proved in an impressive way that you can advance particularly well into jazz nirvana on the basis of a catchy melody. With this in mind, the Swiss-South African Rainmakers are following in Coltrane's footsteps. What they do with the Jacques Brel chanson Amsterdam or the Swiss hit Dr Schacher Seppli, for example, is absolutely breathtaking. The Rainmakers are the prime example of a fruitful exchange between North and South; and a formation that succeeds in squaring the circle, so to speak: namely, the symbiosis of ecstatic seriousness and feel-good cheerfulness.
