Origen deals with "time", the fourth dimension that sets the beginning and end. The "time" stands as a big motto over a year, which will bring many changes.

FAREWELL TO THE RED TOWER

The Red Tower, Origen's iconic theatre house, will be dismantled at the end of August. One of the best orchestras in the canton of Graubünden will disappear without a trace. Where will Origen's ensemble sing in the future? We open the tower for final visits: Kirill Richter's wintry sound installation "Anviern" invites you to linger.

A POWERFUL PROGRAMME

Despite all the farewells, we don't just celebrate melancholy. We do not surrender to melancholy. The last year on the pass is marked by striking world premieres, strong artistic signatures, bold experiments. The award-winning German composer Lorenz Dangel reads Christmas as an eschatological eruption, inspired by Isaia's prophecies. The globally active Japanese choreographer Yuka Oishi reinterprets Michael Ende's «Momo». With «Seven Ages», the exiled Russian composer Kirill Richter devotes himself to Shakespeare's magnificent metaphor of human life and provides insight into his compositional work. Before Easter, great masters of musical mysticism resound on the tower: Ligeti, Derungs, Martin. The Clavadeira hosts two soul games. In "A Winter's Journey" we reflect on Christmas as a symbol of exile, migration, and life. And the Singspiel "Café Sibiria" tells of the life journey of the unfortunate confectioner Pieder Caplazi - an early classic in Origen's repertoire.
