RhB ambulance trains

In the past, most armies used to use medical trains in some form – partly as pure transport units, partly as well-equipped rolling hospitals or even as mobile military hospitals. Such trains were also to be found at the RhB. However, the increasing mechanization and transfer of the wounded to the road and by helicopter in the air led to a transformation of the sanitary transport system.
