Seasonal Wildlife Walks Val Schons

Description
Numerous red deer migrate every spring from their winter arrivals in the Val Schons to the summer arrivals in the Ferrera region to Avers. They have always used the same routes and not only have to cross the Rhine, but also under the A13 motorway. Like many other wildlife, they rely on intact wildlife corridors for such passages. If, for example, these are blocked by traffic routes or settlements, as is the case in many other places in the country, this has a serious impact on migration and the exchange of wildlife populations. In the lecture, wildlife
biologist Claudio Signer will show how and where wild animals migrate, how important the networking of habitats for wild animals is, and why there is a wildlife corridor of national importance in the Val Schons. Afterwards we go on an excursion to the Rhine with gamekeeper Markus Egle and learn from indirect evidence and his local knowledge which animals have already wandered through there.
Online registration required before 12:00 the day before.
