On the hike through the wonderful landscape of the Seeztobel, we experience how a torrent created a new gorge after the Ice Age, how the glacier polished the Verrucano.

Seeztobel-Chapfensee. BLN landscape with Ice Age relics. Guided hike
On an old path we climb through the gorge landscape of the Seez to the beautiful Klus. A little way back, it goes steeply up to the humpback plateau with the Chapfensee, which was built in 1947/1948 and put into operation in 1948. We hike along the reservoir through a unique moor landscape, to the scattered settlement of Vermol and at the end diagonally down the slope into the Weisstannental.
In the ravine of the Seez you will come across wonderful scenic and geological features. The landscape around the Chapfensee and the scattered erratics tell of the influence of the Rhine glacier. The moors are part of a landscape of particular beauty and biodiversity. On the descent we cross the Glarus main thrust, which dives steeply towards Lake Walen.
