Surselva Hiking Region

Val Frisal, Surselva

Surselva («over the forest») is the name of the Rhaeto-Romanic cultural area between Trin and Disentis. Highlights such as Val Lumnezia, the Safien Valley and the Rhine Gorge impress with their openness and natural diversity. The valleys owe their mild summer climate to the proximity to the Mediterranean south. Therefore, a trek over the Greina plain is just as much part of a holiday here as is taking a refreshing swim in the Davos Munts bathing lake.

Highlight: Greina

Meat with wild herbs in the Jurtencafé, surrounded only by a wild vastness and tame marmots - the Greina plain belongs to Switzerland’s most beautiful and protection-worthy natural regions.
