Discover Graubünden more actively! On your bike, starting in Chur, through the rural Mittelbünden into the alpine Engadin up to the almost Mediterranean Southern valley Bergell and Puschlav. Pleasure cyclists put a few meters behind them via Postauto and the Rhaetian railway, and the more athletic ones brave them on their bikes. Südflucht Graubünden is also offered as a package deal with 2 or 3 nights in a certified GraubündenBIKE hotel.
Day 1: Chur – Tschiertschen – Arosa – Tiefencastel – Savognin
50 kilometres /2500 metres uphill /2200 metres downhill
In Chur, hang our bikes on the rear carrier of the Postauto or store them on the Rhaetian railway. Depending on the conditions, you ride your bike from Tschiertschen to Arosa – or take the train to get there. From Arosa we bike to the Carmena cabin up to the Hörnli and further uphill to the Urdenfüggli. Once this is accomplished, the only way you can go is downhill – descend on a 1000 metre single trail all the way to Lenzerheide, Alvaschein and Tiefencastel. There, we once again put our bikes on the rear carrier of the Postauto and let them chauffer us to Savogning.

Day 2: Savognin – Bivio – Bergell – Pontresina
55 kilometres / 1715 metres uphill /2055 metres downhill
After an athletes breakfast we follow the Gelgia river upstream. At the Rona we “climb” the steep forest area and reach Marmorera and Bivio from there. Here, the only way to get you over the Septimerpass is muscle strength. As a reward, an exciting and demanding single trail on the historic pass to Casaccia is waiting for you – through Bergell into the picturesque mountain village of Promontogno. The Postauto takes you to St. Moritz via the Malojapass. You´ll hit the petals again through the Stanzer forest up to the second stage arrival in Pontresina.

Day 3: Pontresina – Berninapass – Poschiavo (-Chur)
40 kilometres / 680 metres uphill/ 1350 metres downhill
The breath taking ascend to the Berninapass is the start of the third day. The classic single trail descend to Poschiavo intersects with the railroad tracks, which are part of the UNESCO world heritage, a few times. The Mediterranean Poschiavo is greeting us with its southern Grisons charm! After a typical Grisons lunch, we take the Rhaetian railway to Chur via the Bernina and Albula line, where our luggage is already waiting for us at the ticket counter.
