Description

From the Schwänzelegg mountain station (1778 m above sea level) it goes down briefly to the signalled start of the round. You climb a small wooded ridge, turn right along the winter hiking trail and then use the common track again in a short ascending section. Shortly before Alp Wiesli, the snowshoe trail branches off in a southerly direction to Alp Rona. The view towards Calanda and Surselva is impressive. After a short flat section, turn left up through a small valley to reach the highest point of the tour, the Höhsäss (1824 m above sea level), after about 80 m. Afterwards, the tour leads first on a hill through the sparse forest, then it goes mainly downhill until you reach the edge of the forest. Now follow the winter hiking trails of the municipality of Furna to the Danusa chairlift, where the tour ends at the Berghaus Schwänzelegg on the sun terrace.

Geheimtipp

In addition to the Berghaus Schwänzelegg, there are other places to stop for refreshments on Danusa: the "Patschifig" with a cosy lounge or the "Red Fox" après-ski hut.

The tour can also be taken from Furna (starting at the Ronabord or Danusa car parks, toll road).

Sicherheitshinweis

The marked snowshoe tour leads into the unsecured winter terrain. It is up to each tourer to fully equip themselves and inform themselves about the snow and avalanche conditions before the tour.

The time indication is a guideline in good conditions for reasonably experienced tourers. Times for snowshoe tours can vary greatly depending on conditions, equipment and condition. Allow enough time.

This description and the marking in the terrain do not constitute a recommendation for inspection. Each inspection decision is the sole responsibility of the individual tourer. An inspection in poor visibility conditions (fog, snowfall) is strongly discouraged.

Ausrüstung

Well-functioning snowshoes, poles with winter plates, good footwear, winter-proof clothing. The wind can reduce the perceived temperature sensitively in winter: don't forget winter gloves, hat, thermos bottle, etc.!

It is recommended to carry complete winter touring equipment including avalanche transceivers on the marked snowshoe trail and generally on all tours in open alpine terrain.
