Description

The Kuhalp Vals is managed by the Alpgenossenschaft Seewis with about 100 cows. In addition to approximately 9,000 kg of alpine cheese, butter and Ziger (whey cheese) are also produced during the summer months. Enduring mountain hikers can follow the signs from Seewis village (Post bus stop Brühel) towards Valärsäge and turn right at the sawmill to Vordersäss of Alp Vals. Those who prefer fewer altitude meters and distance start from Fanas with the cable car to Eggli, hike around the Sassauna towards Schesaplana. At the Luderer Egg turn right towards Mässhalde, past Picardichopf and then reach Vordersäss of Alp Vals after crossing the Valserbach. The return route goes through Valsertobel over Munt back to Fanas.
