Description

The hike starts in Maienfeld at Stall 247, where we receive a backpack with three selected wines from the Bündner Herrschaft. From there, the route leads through the idyllic vineyards to Fläsch. On the way back, we return to the starting point by a different route. Numerous benches invite you to linger and taste along the way. With the audio guide, we also gain fascinating insights into the wine region, viticulture, and the work of the winemakers. A fascinating combination of pleasure and wine knowledge awaits us on this unique circular hike.

Hidden Gem

Along the way, you will find a converted wine barrel containing a small library. A brief stop is worthwhile.

Equipment

Light day backpack (approx. 15 liters) with rain cover, comfortable footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sun and rain protection, possibly snacks and drinking water

Directions

The walk begins at the Stall 247 restaurant, where we collect our rucksack containing the wines. We follow Spitalgasse for about 50 metres to the junction, where we then turn left into Heidelberggässli. We follow Heidelberggässli uphill to the signpost marking the Maienfeld–Fläsch wine trail and follow this to the end. We cross Steigstrasse and can already see the Heidibrunnen. Here we can enjoy our first glass of wine on one of the many benches. We continue our walk along the path towards Fläsch. As soon as we leave the forest and reach the clearing, we follow the signpost to Bad Ragaz. When we reach the tarmac road, we turn right. The Petersbrunnen fire pit is located right there. We then continue walking until we reach the stream. Along the way, there are more benches, which are perfect for the second bottle of wine. We follow the stream down to the main road leading from Fläsch to Maienfeld. We walk about 50 metres along the roadside towards Maienfeld and then turn left onto the footpath. We follow this for about 550 metres. The path then leads left and uphill to the edge of the forest. We continue along this path, stopping once more for a final wine tasting, until we finally arrive back at the Restaurant Stall 247 in Maienfeld and hand back our rucksacks.
