On a beautiful day, when it's almost too hot for a hike even in Bergün, we recommend this refreshing route. Past refreshing dripstone-like rock overhangs, through moss-covered so-called animal hospitals. Funtanislas in the valley floor is like a green oasis. Pause for a moment and enjoy the outstandingly beautiful natural landscape. Take a deep breath and smell the fresh mossy mountain air.
After the hike, you will feel rested, invigorated, and relaxed.
Hidden Gem
Funtanislas is the ideal reading spot for Bergünerstein 1 and Bergünerstein 2, the murder of Antonia Bertschinger.
Safety Note
The route is easy. In some places, the path is wet and a bit slippery.

Directions
The route first leads through the beautiful village of Bergün, past the mountain timber center and the Zinols ski area towards Crestota. Through the shady forest, you descend towards the Albula stream. Past refreshing dripstone-like rock overhangs, through moss-covered so-called animal hospitals, you finally reach the wooden bridge below the Bergünerstein. The view downstream, up to the Albulapass road, which was built through the Bergünerstein in 1696, is equally imposing and magnificent. The route now leads up the valley. After a few minutes, you reach Funtanislas. Funtanislas in the valley floor is like a green oasis. Pause for a moment and enjoy the outstandingly beautiful natural landscape.
Return to Bergün after a short ascent towards Cox and then along the Albula into the village.
