Description

At the valley station of the mountain railway in Disentis, we start along the Acletta stream to Acletta. Partly flat or only moderately steep, we walk on low-traffic neighborhood or field paths to Mompé-Tujetsch, a small Walser village with pretty houses. At the fountain, we quench our thirst and cool our face and arms – just like Sebastian Kneipp. Refreshed, we continue easily along the railway line to Bugnei. Now we are perfectly warmed up for the ascent. On a forest road, we reach the point where we branch off onto a hiking trail with a beautiful view of Sedrun. Until we reach the highest point, Bostg (Piz Plaun Grond), strength and endurance are still quite challenged. But what follows is "chocolate"! The high trail to Caischavedra winds gently up and down through Val Segnas, with wonderful panoramic views into the valley.

Hidden Gem

We take a refreshing foot bath in the stream in Val Segnas.

Directions

Starting from the valley station, ascending into Val Acletta, continuing through Acletta and Segnas to Mompé-Tujetsch. Then flat and parallel to the railway tracks to Bugnei. Before the railway crossing, we turn right onto a forest road. At the second bend, we turn steeply right again onto a singletrail and shortly after, at the next signpost, once more right. At the Mises dil Bostg, the turn on the meadow is not very clearly visible. It goes left behind the huts uphill. From the Bostg a short descent to a small saddle and then right on the signposted hiking trail to Caischavedra.
