Collecting passes from Davos to Tirano

Show all 9 images

Davos is located in a high valley, yet the mountain world is by no means as rough and rugged as that of Central Switzerland or Valais, for example. This is noticeable when riding a motorcycle - nowhere else are the Swiss pass roads as smooth and harmonious as here.

Description
From Davos, head south past lush green meadows and the small Walser settlements along the Landwasser river to Tiefencastel. Turn off towards the Julier Pass and continue over the Maloja Pass to Chiavenna. Staying in Italy, the route leads through half of the Valtellina valley to Tirano.
Tirano offers a range of food and wine experiences, including visits to the region's wineries with tastings and walks through the vineyards and apple orchards.
The route then crosses the border back into Switzerland and winds its way through the Poschiavo Valley up to the Bernina Pass, a glacier paradise. The final highlight is the ride through the dreamy Engadin and the wildly romantic Flüela Valley.
Those who still have stamina can extend the route shortly before the Bernina Pass via the Forcola di Livigno and benefit from inexpensive shopping and cheap fuel for the motorcycle tours.

To collect even more passes, you can alternatively cycle via Livigno to Zernez.
