Over the Rhine dam and through sun-soaked vineyards, the route leads to the Heididorf and along the Heidi Experience Trail to the Heidialp - with a magnificent view of the Chur Rhine Valley.
The route starts comfortably in Bad Ragaz through Giessenpark and along the Rhine into the Fläsch vineyards. Enjoy first views into the Rhine Valley and the passage through the wine village of Fläsch, which was awarded the Wakker Prize in 2010 and forms the gateway to the Bündner Herrschaft. After a short climb, you reach the Heididorf - The Original. The “little village” from Johanna Spyri’s world-famous novel welcomes you to an emotional time travel into the Swiss mountain world of the 19th century. Via the Heidi Experience Trail, which tells the Heidi story at 12 stations, the path gently climbs to the Heidialp, with wonderful views of the Chur Rhine Valley and the Seez Valley. The return journey leads back swiftly via the Heidi Experience Trail to the historic town of Maienfeld and past beautiful patrician houses across the Rhine back to the starting point in Bad Ragaz.
Hidden Gem
