On the former access road, which is closed to motorised traffic, the easy tour masters the incline into the Tamina Valley to Valens. The rehabilitation centre there is one of the leading rehabilitation clinics in Switzerland and specialises in the treatment of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal apparatus and the nervous system. With a view of the imposing Tamina Bridge - an arch bridge with a span of 270 m - and into the depths of the Tamina Gorge, the tour makes a loop over Vasön and the Mapragg reservoir. The water from this equalisation basin, which has already been used to produce electricity, can be pumped back into the higher Gigerwald reservoir in phases of low electricity consumption and used again to produce electricity if necessary.
