GWunderwald - section 5 - birch forest
The long nature experience trail - GWunderwald - in the region around Heidboden in Davos is a place for the mind, hand, and heart.
Details
Description
There are various paths starting from a bus stop of the Davos public transport that lead towards Heidboden as the center of the GWunderwald. Along these paths, various experience stations are set up according to the situation. Visitors can choose their own routes and reach the next bus stop or a restaurant on any other path. The trail can be experienced in eight different and combinable sections. On hiking trails and forest roads, you have the opportunity to learn about various nature topics depending on the situation. At 31 activity stations, nature, recreation, landscape, agriculture, forestry, hunting, flora and fauna, and much more are presented in a playful way. The activity stations are equally suitable for adults and children, as they explain nature in a playful manner.
Hidden Gem
The nature experience trail can also be explored as part of excursions. Forest warden André Kindschi guides the "GWunderwald" both within the guest program of Davos Klosters and individually, for example for school classes, in his role as a ranger.
