Hochwang - Fideriser Heuberge

Start Hochwang: From the mountain station Triemel of the chairlift, follow the path to the mountain hut Hochwang. About 300 m after the mountain hut, the path branches off to the left (signposted "Arflina"). After a short climb, you gain the gentle slopes below Cunggel and Mittagsspitz and will soon see the summit point Arflinafurgga. From the pass, the path leads eastwards to the mountain hut Arflina.

Start Heuberge: The piste vehicle groomed path leads from the 2000 meter high mountain hut Arflina over several high plains up to Arflinafurgga (2246 m). This pass connects the valleys Prättigau and Schanfigg – the view now shows the Aroser and Lenzerheider mountains and towards Surselva. After a short descent, you reach the Faninpass, where you can catch another view of the Rätikon mountain range with the Schweizertor. It is now relatively flat along gentle mountain slopes below Mittagspitz and Cunggel westwards, still consistently above the tree line. Finally, some bends lead to a junction where you gain the path to the mountain hut Hochwang (1957 m). Alternatively, you can descend to Peist here. From the mountain hut, the path leads for about 1.3 km to the mountain station Triemel of the chairlift (1880 m).

Public transport circular route: Take the postbus to St. Peter and the regional bus to the valley station of the Hochwang cable cars, chairlift ride to Triemel. Winter hiking trail to Arflina. 12 km toboggan run to Fideris. Return to Landquart by postbus and RhB.
