Description
Do you want to learn something about the history of water and power supply in Arosa or just feel like discovering the mysterious botanical and geological diversity of our region on your own? Then follow the natural history hiking trail. The trail leads from the Iselwies to the Altein waterfall and back to the reservoir. This walk is possible even in bad weather.
Hidden Gem
Enjoy the hike in July – because then the lady's slipper orchid (Cypripedium calceolus) blooms in the Isel near Arosa. The plant loves bright forests and calcareous soils – therefore it occurs particularly well in the Isel. The development from seed to flowering plant takes a full 12 to 15 years.
Safety Note
Arosa strives to provide hikers with a well-developed and marked hiking trail network. Please observe the rules and signage. You can find more helpful tips under Hiking Infos.
