An adventure trail that is reminiscent of the magnificent and imposing structure of the Gotthard Base Tunnel. This year with local and handmade wooden figures!
Details
Description
Deep below the municipality of Tujetsch, a gigantic structure has been built over two decades: the Gotthard Base Tunnel. With a length of 57 kilometres, the heart of the NRLA (New Rail Link through the Alps) is one of the longest tunnel tubes in the world.
On two tours, the NRLA Adventure Trail provides insights into the construction and operation of this century-old structure. Twelve informative stations encourage you to play and try things out.
NEW in summer 2025:
In a cosy warm workshop in Sedrun, the artist Fernando Jacomet carves and sands his wooden blocks every morning. Many days pass before a wooden sculpture is created. The love for nature is reflected in all his wood carvings and let the observer marvel and delight.
Fernando and Catrina have decided to exhibit the wooden figures during the summer holidays. Thank you very much for this trust! They will be there at the opening and Fernando will fascinate us with his story.
The NEATural association cordially invites everyone to participate and toast to it.
Opening: 05 July 2025 at 16:00, below the playground in Rueras.
The figures will remain on display until 17 August.
The adventure trail is suitable for families, groups, school trips and all young-at-heart explorers. Boarding is possible at all stations. The brochure can be picked up at the Sedrun Tourist Office, Via Alpsu 64a, 7188 Sedrun.
In winter, the path is open from 1-4 and A-D.
