Show all 7 images
Where can you enjoy the most impressive view in the Surselva? At the top of the list is the "Bündner Rigi" – the destination of this gravel route. While the ascent leads through Lumnezia, you can enjoy the unique panorama over the main valley of the Surselva down to Chur during the descent.
Details
Description
The first meters lead through the historic district of Ilanz, the first town on the Rhine. Then it continues on the main road to Cumbel in Lumnezia. From here it becomes quieter and your own breath louder. The paved alpine road passes the charming mountain village of Morissen and continues to the solitary chapel Sogn Carli. Here you could enjoy a picnic or light the existing fire pit. If you do not want to carry extra weight up the mountain, a little later you will be fully rewarded at the inn Bündner Rigi with the best panorama.
Note: The mountain inn Bündner Rigi is not always open. Here you can find the opening hours.
From here, your path leads back to Ilanz over gravel roads and little asphalt.
