Details

Description

7.5 kilometres of freshly prepared trail lead from Pontresina railway station into the side valley, over steeply rising winter meadows and through snow-covered larch and Swiss stone pine forests. This purely classic trail is lined on both sides by the gentle giants Piz Tschierva and Piz Corvatsch and follows the course of the river Ova da Roseg. Cross-country skiers always head for the Hotel Restaurant Roseg Gletscher, where the view finally opens up to other imposing peaks of the Bernina Group. If the snow conditions and your own energy reserves allow, you can extend the trail from here for about 2.5 km towards the glacial lake Lej da Vadret. To get back to Pontresina, you can follow the outward trail or take a leisurely ride in a horse-drawn sleigh from the Restaurant Roseg Gletscher.
