Rinerhorn - Hubelhütte - Äbirügg - Rinerhorn

With wide paths, a petting zoo and a playground, this hike is perfect for families!

At the Rinerhorn cable car mountain station, you first follow the signs to the petting zoo, which you reach after just a few meters. With children, you have to make the first stop here, as the alpacas, goats and pigs love to be petted.

Past the petting zoo and alpine roses, the ascent follows on a hiking trail to the Hubelhütte. The path is easy to walk – but not suitable for strollers! At the Hubelhütte, you have a breathtaking view of Davos and the surrounding mountains. In good weather, the Hubelhütte is open in summer from Friday to Sunday (09:00 – 16:30).

After the refreshment, the descent follows on a wide forest road towards Äbirügg, where there is a barbecue area with tables and firewood – ideal for families! From Äbirügg, you then walk back comfortably on a wide gravel road to the mountain station. Everyone with strollers can reach the barbecue area at Äbirügg via this path.

Why not enjoy a coffee with a piece of homemade cake at Restaurant Jatzmeder before the ride down to the valley or have another swing round at the playground? The ice cream at Jatzmeder is also very popular with children.

You have to try the Kaiserschmarren at the Hubelhütte, it is a real insider tip. On the way at the Äbirügg there is a barbecue area with firewood, a great place to "braai".
