The “Rona Bike” tour is a pleasant after-work jaunt without any technical challenges. It is not too strenuous, suitable even for those who are new to mountain biking and for families.
The route starts at the parking lot of the Savognin cable cars. The route follows the Julia river along an idyllic, relatively flat path to Tinizong. The elongated village lies slightly elevated on the right bank of the Julia and is the uppermost settlement of the Sotgôt. A forested drop, which is due to a landslide, separates the two valley sections Sot- and Surgôt. After the turnoff at the football field of Tinizong, the path therefore becomes somewhat steeper. After crossing the river, the shaded path through the forest to Rona is followed. Upon arriving in Rona, first the bridge and then the main road are crossed. Keeping left uphill through the village, we follow the path back to Tinizong. The section between Rona and Tinizong is also called the Roman road because finds from this period were made here. In Vardaval, the main road is crossed again, and the route returns along the pleasant and slightly descending path by the Julia river back to Savognin.
Nature, people and their products make Parc Ela unmistakable. A real wilderness feeling and historic villages offer experiences in the heart of Graubünden.
