Description

The Senda Sursilvana Alpina is a six-day long-distance hike that leads from Trun to Flims. On white-red-white and white-blue-white marked hiking trails, you will experience the diversity of the Graubünden mountains: from alpine glacier landscapes to flower-filled alpine meadows to quiet high valleys.

Each stage offers unique highlights: breathtaking panoramas of Oberalpstock, Tödi and Tschingelhörner, rushing waterfalls, charming mountain villages such as Pigniu and idyllic alpine lakes such as the Lag da Pigniu. Challenging passages and climbing sections require surefootedness, but reward you with unforgettable views.

On the way, huts invite you to spend the night. Apart from that, there is hardly any infrastructure on the way. The Senda Sursilvana Alpina is a real high mountain adventure for hikers who want to experience the Graubünden mountains away from roads and villages.

Important: this is the alternative route due to the reconstruction of the Cavardiras Hut.

Hidden Gem

For the tour, early reservation of the huts is necessary, as places are limited.

Safety Note

In uncertain weather conditions, the tour should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar comes up during the hike, you should turn back in time.

Equipment

For the long-distance hike, it is recommended: hiking backpack with rain cover, good hiking boots or trekking shoes with a firm profile, weather-appropriate clothing in the multi-layer principle including rain and sun protection, a change of clothes, provisions and drinking water, telescopic poles, a first aid kit, pocket knife, headlamp, maps, hut sleeping bag and personal hygiene articles.
