With snowshoes, it goes from Falera to Curnius on literally big foot through the winter.
Falera, mountain station
Falera has been inhabited for over 3000 years. At that time, Falera was a very important sanctuary. The megalithic plant - one of the largest of its kind in Switzerland - is today proof of that. The church of St. Remigius is the landmark of Falera. Am destination we can expect the cozy mountain hut Tegia Curnius which invites you to linger and sunbathing with its large sun terrace.
In the Tegia Curnius, try the grison specialty "homemade maluns with alpine cheese and apple sauce"
Well-functioning snowshoes, sticks with winter plates, good footwear, winter-proof clothing
The snowshoe route starts at 1200 meters above sea level at the valley station of the mountain railways in the historic village of Falera and leads along the sunny hillside to 1644 m above sea level to the mountain station Curnius. The first 300 meters you walk on the winter hiking trail No. 100, in the first right turn begins the snowshoe trail No. 200. The 4 km long route runs over wide alp areas and through short forest sections and offers a sweeping view of the valley.
