Details
Description
Starting point the pass village Splügen. Above the village, on the Splügenpass road at the right turn before the bridge over the Hüscherenbach, the path branches off to the left. Through the Fugschtwald 1,824 m, the route climbs up to Franzisch Grind, a beautiful vantage point at the tree line. Then continue to Pt. 2'066 where the ascent route crosses with the Alpweg Obere Räzünscherhütte.
From here it zigzags up to the Lower Suretta Lake and then to the Upper Suretta and Turra Lakes. The lake hut is located at 2,272 m, but is not hosted. On this high plateau there is a soothing, quiet atmosphere in the midst of a very stony mountain world. By the way, a rowing boat is available here (use at your own risk).
The descent to the Alpweg takes place on the same route. At the crossroads with the Alpweg, the route branches off to the left and leads down to the Splügenpass road. From Bodmastafel you can return to the village on the viaSpluga.
Any hiking trail closures/restrictions or diversions can be found here.
