Description

Anna Catrina is a fictional character who lived in Ilanz 500 years ago. In a novel, but also in a children's book "Anna Catrina - Daughter of Ilanz," she tells about life back then in the first town on the Rhine. She reports about her miserable life in her uncle’s inn and how she was allowed to work as a maid for the most influential family in Ilanz, but then was put in the pillory. And of course, there is a happy ending. The tour visits all the stations of Anna Catrina. You do not need to know the story to do the digital quiz tour.

Hidden Gem

The Anna Catrina books are available at the Museum Regiunal Surselva (the tour also passes by here) or you can borrow them at the library (which you pass by).

The old town in Ilanz is paved with cobblestones and is unsuitable for people with mobility impairments.
