Shortly after the start at the valley station, the route leads on the idyllic hiking trail towards Zerfreila. The most extensive forest area of the Valsertal is crossed to a large extent, which gives this first half of the route a very quiet and mysterious atmosphere. Past refreshing brooks and lonely forest chapels, the steepest passages are mastered early. Later, the path has a rather gentle and varied incline. Only shortly before Zervreila the narrow gorge finally widens, and the dense forest is left for the first time when reaching the tranquil clearings in the Bleika. Soon the restaurant Zervreila follows, and over a short stretch of road the dam the heart of the route is reached. At 151m, the highest building in Valsertal offers a spectacular panorama of the reservoir and the surrounding mountains with Zerfreila and Güferhorn. The subsequent ascent up to the picturesque hamlet of Frunt is as short as it is steep and presents a central challenge. Finally, the popular panorama hiking trail crosses the high moor region Kristalloch and reaches the destination at the mountain station Gadastatt without large differences in altitude.
