Description
Our tips for the Via Engiadina:
- Upper Engadin lake landscape: The most beautiful view is offered at Plaz above Sils.
- Zuoz village square: The most beautiful village square in the Upper Engadin with typical Engadin houses.
- Zernez and Swiss National Park: Zernez is the gateway to the National Park with a large visitor center. The Swiss National Park is the only national park in Switzerland and the oldest in the Alps.
- Guarda: Typical Engadin village. Selina Chönz and Alois Carigiet were inspired by Guarda and created the story of Schellen-Ursli.
- Val Sinestra: The Val Sinestra with the eponymous and mysterious hotel.
This classic high-altitude route always leads on the sunny valley side along the young Inn, through historic Engadin villages and the contrasting beauty of Engadin nature: through Swiss stone pine and larch forests, over babbling crystal-clear streams and lush alpine meadows, over root and rock – accompanied constantly by a breathtaking view over the incomparable Upper Engadin landscape and the glowing glaciers. The panoramic hike continues on the sunny side of the Lower Engadin through typical Engadin villages such as Guarda, Ardez, Sent or Tschlin to Vinadi.
