Description

The road first winds gently through the Domleschg to Thusis, where the ascent begins and the landscape becomes more varied. Narrow gorges alternate on the old road with wide meadows and lakes. In Splügen, the real highlight of the route begins – the climb to the Splügen Pass (9 km with an average gradient of 7%). The numerous hairpin bends in the upper part of the pass are an absolute eye-catcher. Once at the top, you are at the border to Italy and can enjoy the unique view. On the way back to Flims, you travel on the same route, and those who want to avoid the last steep climb to Flims can simply catch the bus in Tamins.
