Description

From the Flims Tourist Information, the route passes the Yellow House and follows quiet side streets toward Fidaz. This old Walser village boasts historic farmhouses and unique views over the Rhine Gorge. Past pastures and meadows, the route continues through the Uaul da Fidaz up to the Belmont Castle ruins. Please observe the strict path rule between Fidaz and Bargis. The Uaul da Fidaz is home to the capercaillie, a rare and vulnerable forest bird that breeds and raises its young in the thicket on the ground from May to mid-July. The ruins tell stories; the complex was built in the middle of the forest between Fidaz and Bargis around 1,000 years ago. On a clear day, the ruins of Crap Sogn Parcazi Castle near Trin can be seen. The castle was the ancestral seat of the Barons of Belmont and was inhabited until the 14th century. After exploring the ancient walls, the final climb to the Bargis mountain hut awaits. If you'd like to explore further, you can take a detour to the La Runsna waterfalls. After a break, the hike continues to Trutg la Bleica, where the trail leads along narrow paths and bridges along the steep slope. The trail ends above Fidaz on the high trail, and via Quadris, you return to Flims.

Hidden Gem
