Description

On the route from Gadastatt to Zervreila enjoy the impressive panoramic views over the opposite side of the valley. Hike through snow-covered moorland and over an alpine region blanketed in white. Above you is the Dachberg where skiers and free-riders can find the perfect conditions. In Frunt (1,990 m), the St. Anna chapel built in 1754 is situated right at the front on a rock face. From here you can enjoy views over the Zervreila dam. The 2,821 m high Zervreilahorn ("Grisons' Matterhorn") sits enthroned above the lake at the far end.

Geheimtipp

At the start you can relax on the sun terrace of the mountain restaurant Gadastatt with a beautiful view and strengthen for the hike.  Arriving in Zerfreila you can recharge at restaurant Zervreila with a refreshing drink and a piece of blueberry pie (specialty). In winter rent a sledge for the 7 km long distance to Vals. It is an unforgettable experience. The sledge can be rented at Restaurant Zervreila. Alternative: With the Zervreila Shuttle to Vals. Directions

The path from Gadastatt to Zervreila leads through protected moorland at the crystal hole. Along the path you can find beautifully located resting benches and hike past snow-covered mountain streams. After the gentle climbs and slopes up to Frunt there is a short steep descent to Zervreila dam wall. You cross the wall and follow the route to the Zervreila restaurant car park. Sledging down the roughly 7 km long route to Vals Valley is an unforgettable experience. Sledges can be hired at Zervreila restaurant.

Take the PostBus from Ilanz to Vals (Valé stop).

To get to the starting point of the hike, you have the option of taking the cable car operated by Sportbahnen Vals AG to Gadastatt. The journey takes about 6 minutes
