Stalla Engiadina

Haulers and Horse-drawn Carriages

In Oberengadin near St. Moritz horses pull romatic couples and families through the high valley in carriages. This was a bit different one hundred years ago: The noble animals had to work hard and were used for transport in the rugged mountain areas.

One of the special highlights in the holiday region Engadine St. Moritz is a drive to Val Roseg. On about ten kilometres, the path takes you past lush alpine meadows on the foot of the Roseg glacier. It's worth making a short stop at the restaurant Roseg and try one of the delicious regional specialties.

«Harmony» is the magic word when it comes to handling the horses at Stalla Engiadina. Entirely in the sense of «Natural Horsemanship», the team tries to understand the behaviour of the animals as best they can. Only then a humane treatment of the animals is possible. Those interested can convince oneself during a trek through Engadine.
