"Buchstart" für kleine Bibliothekbesucher*innen

An event for the youngest library visitors and their companions. Old and new verses, rhymes and songs are experienced together, and there is also a story by Eulalia. A minibook with the rhymes learned should not be missing, then the verses and songs can be spoken at home and language can be practiced.

Buchstart is a nationwide project for early language education. Buchstart promotes children's first encounter with books. The target group of Buchstart are children aged 0-3 years and their parents and adult caregivers.

Children who grow up with books from the very beginning have an advantage. They learn early on how much fun there is in pictures and books, and take the joy of reading and learning with them for life. With the book gift, Buchstart encourages parents to actively communicate with their child from the very first moment and to familiarize them with picture books from about six months of age.

Picture books are not only a great help in language acquisition, they also promote the culture of conversation within the family and offer comfort and security. The aim of Buchstart is to give all children the opportunity to grow with books from the very beginning.
