Description

The tour begins in sunny Sent high above the Inn. If you look around the village, you will discover another structural peculiarity in addition to the sgraffito facades: the curved roof gables, known as the "Senter Gable". They were once brought to the Inn Valley by craftsmen from the Tyrol and are now considered a feature of the village. First on a gravel path and then on a natural path, the route leads towards Val Sinestra. The valley in the far southeast of Switzerland has so far been spared mass tourism. With its flower meadows in spring, the fresh mountain air in summer and the golden larch forests in autumn, it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful mountain regions in Switzerland. Here you can make wonderful excursions by bike or on foot.

Once in the valley, the characteristic Art Nouveau hotel Val Sinestra immediately catches the eye. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century in a place where six mineral springs gush out of the mountain. The atmosphere of the former spa complex, which was closed in 1972, can still be felt today. The building has been largely preserved in its original state, today it houses a hotel with a restaurant. In recent years, the place has also often served as a film set. At the height of the hotel, the route leads to the other side of the Brancla River in the direction of Giarschiglia. Away from civilization, a gravel path runs mostly past beautiful meadows in the direction of Vnà. From the idyllically situated mountain village, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Lower Engadine mountain landscape.

After Vnà, the trail runs eastwards to Seraplana and across the Inn. From the hamlet of Raschvella, the Inn is followed upstream to Sur En. If you need a refreshment before the last ascent over the Inn and in the direction of Sent, you can stop at the restaurant of Camping Sur En.
